The place where I used to get steak for lunch recently scaled back their operations. No steak for lunch for me (unless I schlep to downtown Evanston).

When do the astronauts pop open the champagne?
Last week a Russian spacecraft ferried three astronauts to the International Space Station to join the two who had been manning it since October. The crew took Christmas Day off to share meals together. What about celebrating New Year's—how do you pick the right moment when you're hurtling through time zones at 17,500 miles per hour?
Ha! I guessed right.
Answer:
"Just wait until midnight, Greenwich Mean Time. By convention, the astronauts set their clocks to GMT, also known as Coordinated Universal Time. That means they'll officially ring in the New Year with those in London, Reykjavik, and Accra."
More accurately, Blanchett wore an afghan of granny squares. But yes. I could almost see it as a statement on women's work and artisanship, but I'm probably thinking too hard. Y'all are probably right on Gaga. I like J-lo's dress. It's a beautiful color, draped wonderfully, and introduced the world to dress tape.
I really loathe Gaga's music and her aesthetic. I'm much more tolerant of Rihanna, though I haven't parsed exactly why.
SWINTON rules. That is all.
Cate Blanchett can do whatever she wants. Period.
I think that J-Lo dress is gorgeous. Especially compared to some of the rest of them.
It was on someone's "best of the decade" list. I really don't like it, but compared to the others it's gorgeous.
Also, I don't see how Kate Hudson's compares to the others at all.
Cate Blanchett can do whatever she wants. Period.
Concur. She is Beyond Reproach. Also in this class, Emma Thompson. Maybe Kate Winslet.
Any others?
Judi Dench? Helen Mirren?
Swinton!
Judi Dench, Aretha
Dame Edna.
