Zoe: First rule of battle, little one. Don't ever let 'em know where you are. Mal: Whoo-hoo! I'm right here! I'm right here! You want some of me? Yeah, you do! Come on! Come on! Aaah! Whoo-hoo! Zoe: Of course, there are other schools of thought...

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Swinton!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Judi Dench, Aretha

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Dame Edna.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Helen definitely. Judi probably.

I'm thinking of an old article (maybe back in the 90s?) about "untouchables." Not in the India caste system sense, but public figures whose reputations are so strong and secure that if you criticize them it actually makes you look bad.

Swinton's too controversial! That's what makes her Swinton. She'll give Clooney shit while she's accepting her Oscar. I think that makes her infinitely cooler, but not beyond reproach.

Because books.

Possibly Susan Sarandon, too.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Y'know, Sanibel Island is far from my favorite vacation spot (we're here because this is where my grandmother likes to spend the winter and she's paying our way), but checking the weather back home in Brooklyn makes me really happy to be here. I'm sitting on my balcony in short sleeves and capris enjoying the world's slowest free wireless internet and it is HEAVENLY.

This morning we biked to breakfast and then played in the pool for 2 hours. Now Dylan is napping and at some point I should eat lunch. Oh, and a flock of pelicans just flew by my window. Keen!

I shall refute your statement by adding additional exclamation marks:

Swinton!!!!

So there!

Slight ding for the breakup but her status is probably secure.

Are there no men? Maybe George Clooney.

I'm trying to think of writers. Alice Munro definitely. Gaiman? Hmmm. Does he have the lit cred? Within his own demo, yes, but outside of that I wonder.

brillig

The J-Lo dress wins for color and fabric. Any other fabric, and it would look horrible to me. But just looking at that color combination makes me happy.
