Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That wasn't even true when I was growing up.

I think it was in Mass., when I grew up.

Because books.

Shopping only during the day, Monday to Saturday.

The town where I grew up, stores were only open Thursday nights. And they weren't open on Sunday until I was out of high school, unless it was a drug store.

or better yet should I get a while cake and just faceplant into it?

Well, faceplant with mouth open, right?

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

From that 100 things article--what happened to diving boards?

Pools removed them due to liability/insurance issues.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

And people don't delete stuff to make room from their hard drives any more?

I think that was implying that in the future memory will be so cheap and plentiful that that won't be necessary. The diving boards I don't understand.

Really? I delete stuff all the time. The 320GB and 250GB drives in my computer are always running low on free space. The 1.5 TB drive is doing fine and the 1TB external drive is only half full though.

Huh. I think the municipal pools around here still have them. I will have to check.

Pools here still have them.

Because books.

Pools here have them, too. And the one where we used to live in PA had just added a huge twisty slide before we moved.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

And people don't delete stuff to make room from their hard drives any more?

Really? I delete stuff all the time.

I do, too. There were a few on that list that made me boggle.

I mean, the Victrola still plays as good as ever, so there's no need to replace it!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Thanks msbelle and Jesse.

The town I grew up in didn't have any stores by the time I was old enough to go to them. The grocery store was open until 9 pm and 6 pm on Sundays.
