I have a lot of frustration with the health care reform legislation. For one I don't really see how it's going to address the cost of health care.
It won't. Healthcare is actually one of the sectors of the economy that isn't subject to the same cost-demand ratios as other things in classic economics.
The way to control costs is to ration it. Period.
I'm having a DAY today. My Tuesday has also been replaced by Monday. BUT (and this is a huge but) I am going to see Mary Poppins tonight!
I could stand to have more safety issues. But I've come a long way from the days where I was actually looking to get mugged.
msbelle, you can see video of people at the front door of your building from your apartment? That's pretty cool.
I'm a big theoretical fan of home automation, but that's more from a geeky PoV than a security one. My parents are understandably safety-conscious, living in Kingston, so I was trying to convince them to let me help hook their house up, but I missed my chance there.
My Tuesday has also been replaced by Monday
I hope you get some consecutive Fridays.
Yeah, okay, a compelling personal narrative is no excuse not to apply a well-deserved cockpunch for going along with a strategic move that even my mother would foil(She would, too. If we begged or whined like that, we'd get NOTHING. And she loves us a lot more than anyone loves Joe Lieberman.)
If it wasn't him, Rahm would expect nothing less than a cockpunch for that.
That is FAIL both in Hebrew and Klingon.
UK Banks are eliminating cheques.
Does this mean they're eliminating that spelling of the word, as well?
(Yes, I admit that I'm being judgey of how another country's people choose to spell their word. It's just a weird-ass spelling, damn it.)
From the cheQUe article:
Big stores such as Marks & Spencer have already stopped taking cheques,
Scandinavian countries and Ireland have already voted to phase out cheques
most under-30s now barely use cheques, while the under-20s have barely heard of them.
All of that? Very interesting, despite the needless Qs and Us.
Banks in Canada have had a successful a pay-by-email system in place for a while. It's easy to set up in Canada, because there are only a few banks there.
I did not think about this.
Around here, people still use 'em, but it's true, I haven't ordered new ones in ages.
Still think they serve a purpose.
It's true mostly I only use checks for my landlord, and the last few times friends owed me money they paid by paypal! But still!

Americans are the weirdos when it comes to spelling, damn it.
