Our wings are not tired.

I think I love ita's mom.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Hey, that's my cousin playing bass on Conan! What an unfortunate haircut.

hip deep in pie

Man, overproof rum was always our guest gift to my Aunts from the Duty Free.

It was always the guest gift from my Great Aunt from the Duty Free. It wasn't so exciting to me, I don't like rum. But my dad was pretty psyched.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

She has to stop watching TV or there'll be no food left for her to eat.

You should have showed up with a jar of peanut butter and a spoon.

Now tagless for your comfort.

ita's mom for the win! My mom never sends me booze or food.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Why do I not read package ingredients?? I got all excited that Quaker instant oatmeal had a "50% less sugar" version, because I thought it would be less sweet, not more sucralose.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Oooh -- if I go off to the networking meeting early, I can stop in at Whole Foods for a slice of yummy vegan Carrot Cake, which while high-priced is yummy yet also healthy....

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

In my sweetener-avoidant experience, less sugar means more artificial sweetener and unsweetened is the only thing you can rely on for reduced sweetness.

I want to bet she doesn't like PJ. She makes less sense than when I was vegan. At least I was consistent for the first three months. Then I started incorporating a steak a week.

I have no idea how she's expecting to eat when she's here. Dairy is my main non-meat protein. Ah, well. That's why one of the first things I do with family when they show up is go grocery shopping. Their ways are obscure to me, some more than others.

I don't think my mother has ever not sent food. She will often travel with one suitcase full of it, although she has trouble convincing father and sister to go to her lengths.

Headache woke me up this morning. Today is going to be long. I also keep leaving the last letter off of my words. Today is all document preparation, so it's going to be even longer.

That's one of the reasons that I can't go vegetarian -- it's much harder to incorporate enough protein if you can't do the Moo.

Even I have a limit to the amount of pork I eat, which is her only mammal. Probably because I don't cook it with a great deal of variation--I'm mostly in it for the piggy taste, so I don't do a lot of seasoning, just grill it with a little pepper, or maybe stuff a thick pork chop with some lightly spiced filling.
