Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I resent that innuendo!
You know, if there are intelligent aliens out there, I bet they haven't contacted us because we don't meet their definition of 'intelligent', which would include the ability to recognize and prevent long-term, abstract threats to our existence. Like, for example, global warming. Or overpopulation. Or depletion of natural resources, water, etc....
I've been entrusted with a neat little secret that I can't tell anyone yet and it is killing me. I can't even tell invisible internet people. Add to it that I know due to a rather untoward inside track and it makes it even worse. Because even when it is no longer a secret, I can't really tell I knew before without some questions being asked. Oy.
Hmph. Thought sharing that might make it less killing, but nope. Not working.
I'm STILL waiting for the electrician. The longer he takes, the more work it will be as the deck is progressing rapidly.
I don't have anything witty of inoffensive to add to this "people think we'll euthanize their grandparents" thread. All I can think of to type offends ME, and I'm the goth-with-a-mortician-and-a-psych-nurse-for-parents.
I totally agree with tommyrot, though - humans. I swear.

No plans for this weekend. Must mow the lawn and otherwise make the house ready for vacation. There is something called August Fest going on at the waterfront, so I'll probably check that out.

There, finally enough provocation to justify invading Canada.

Yeah. Taxing us without representation, bombing our harbor, mooning our balloon - all good examples of casus belli....
