12 Most Ridiculous Lawsuits
6 Batman vs Batman: Mayor of Batman city sued Warner Brothers
The mayor of an oil-producing city in southeastern Turkey, which has the same name as the Caped Crusader, sued helmer Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros for royalties from mega-grosser "The Dark Knight." Huseyin Kalkan, the pro-Kurdish Democratic Society Party mayor of Batman accused "The Dark Knight" producers of using the city's name without permission.
"There is only one Batman in the world," Kalkan said. "The American producers used the name of our city without informing us." No one from the town of Batman has explained why it took so many years to take legal action, since Batman first appeared -as a comic book character- in 1939.
FluMust has a live, but weakened virus. The shot is a killed virus. You CANNOT get the flu from getting a shot. You can possibly get the flu from FluMist - which is why they don't recommend it for the most vulnerable people, i.e. children under 2, pregnant women, and the severely immunocompromised. My kids aren't particularly at-risk, but if I have a choice, for them I'll take the shot. And since they just got FluMist for seasonal, I'd rather they get the shot for H1N1 if possible. It's not fully rational, and if my choice is FluMist or nothing, I'll be okay with FluMist.
Also, children under 10 are supposed to get TWO doses of the H1N1, a month apart. How the heck I will manage that i do not know.
Egad, Hil, that's horrible. That poor woman. Those asshole paramedics.
As I was reading down through the thread, one of my bosses popped into the office to announce that our division chief was just diagnosed with H1N1.
eta: From tommyrot's list, the cork shoes and the boxing glove shoes actually look pretty comfy. Ridiculous, but comfy.
15 Most Painful Shoes Ever Created
OMG - it's The CRUEL SHOES!!!
Yeah, some of those shoes look painful on the outside, but the interior part looks fine. The bare metal one, though ...
I get the flu shot because of asthma -- they want ed me to get it for just diabetes, but that never seem to make much difference in how I got sick . Asthma does, and I will get the H1N1 when available. Right now if I get sick for a week it takes 2 -4 weeks for a full recovery
We get non-homogenized milk and every time I crack it open for the first time, I want to scrape the cream off the top and eat it with a spoon. It's so hard to shake it back into the milk bottle.
It's times like these, I can understand why some look at the Good Old Days with fondness.
Here is your Friday afternoon bat video. [link]
Have I been remiss in linking to Friday afternoon bat videos in the past? The bats in this one should make up for it. And for all the bat videos I'll fail to link to in the future. I think it may contain all the bats in the world. (Except for Michael Keaton.)
which is why they don't recommend it for the most vulnerable people, i.e. children under 2, pregnant women, and the severely immunocompromised.
Unless you're in this group and severely allergic to eggs, in which case the shot isn't an option.
Weekend plans: Buffy Halloween ep watching, which I may have already mentioned here; possibly the pumpkin carving mentioned by Calli; dinner tonight is Buffalo Wings.
