Now tagless for your comfort.

We get non-homogenized milk and every time I crack it open for the first time, I want to scrape the cream off the top and eat it with a spoon. It's so hard to shake it back into the milk bottle.

It's times like these, I can understand why some look at the Good Old Days with fondness.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Here is your Friday afternoon bat video. [link]

Have I been remiss in linking to Friday afternoon bat videos in the past? The bats in this one should make up for it. And for all the bat videos I'll fail to link to in the future. I think it may contain all the bats in the world. (Except for Michael Keaton.)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

which is why they don't recommend it for the most vulnerable people, i.e. children under 2, pregnant women, and the severely immunocompromised.

Unless you're in this group and severely allergic to eggs, in which case the shot isn't an option.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Weekend plans: Buffy Halloween ep watching, which I may have already mentioned here; possibly the pumpkin carving mentioned by Calli; dinner tonight is Buffalo Wings.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I feel like I heard on NPR that there's an egg-free injectable version, but I can't swear that that's true. (Plus, if it does exist, I imagine the supplies are very, VERY low.)

Oh! And the annual bellydance Halloween party, aka Haflaween. 'Tis my favorite event all year. I'm not dancing, but I'm happy to just watch and eat the goodies. And probably see how many skull/bone-related articles of clothing I can wear at once.

information libertarian

This weekend I am coordinating a LibraryThing flash mob to catalog the Classics department's collection of 2200+ books. With 4 librarians, 6 faculty members, an unknown number of grad students, and 8 undergrads. It will also be the 7th day in a row I'll have been at work.

It could be cool, or a disaster. I'll know by noon tomorrow.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Weekend:

  • Fri: Dinner with MiL
  • Sat: Echo and the Bunnymen
  • Sun: Tegan & Sara
  • (Mon: Tegan & Sara)

I may have overscheduled my almost 8 months pregnant self...

Gah, we have no Halloween candy! We've been remiss in the stocking up. Fortunately it should start being on sale soon, even if the kids end up with mini-boxes of Dots or off-brand smarties and such.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?
