Gah! I have too many cross stitch patterns at home to be done--why am I looking at more?!? And more holiday ones, at that!! But they are very cool looking (Santa's sleigh and all nine reindeer, including Rudolph, but the patterns alone would run over $100 total).

A Baptist Church near Asheville, N.C., is hosting a "Halloween book burning" to purge the area of "Satan's" works, which include all non-King James versions of the Bible, popular books by many religious authors and even country music.
Ha. Asheville is freak central, as I was just talking about on lj. Someone should round up the drum circle to go protest. Or the firedancers, or the bellydancers, or the homeless hippie kids, or ya know - half the town.

Mood Tail: A Robotic Tail For Humans (VIDEO)
Opposable thumbs are pretty nifty. Walking upright is pretty cool too.

JZ, I already have in my stack of patterns to be done eventually Mucha's La Tosca, Gismonda, and La Trappistine, which I've completely forgotten about until you mentioned it. All Sarah Bernhardt Mucha designs!
msbelle is soooo right--I have too many things to do already! Although I will buy that Santa Claus for my mom's Xmas gift for 2010.
Man, I need to go boot shopping. And coat shopping for that matter - we're seeing mid-November weather a month early in Chicago this year. Bastards.
I got my boots online on Monday, but my high-arch feet won't quite fit into them, so I have to exchange them for the double-W size. Here's hoping these will fit! I did get a great wine-colored cordoroy coat for the fall which will be great until the temp gets below freezing during the day.
