Inara: Who's winning? Simon: I can't tell. They don't seem to be playing by any civilized rules that I know.

I have the sense, although I don't really have any basis for it, that that conversation got into more detail as to exactly what her plan/goal is and how Cal being held by SHIELD can help.

This would annoy be a little. The scene was supposed to convey Cal's willingness to do a selfless act to protect his family. It's not selfless if they instead launched a plan for him to play trojan horse. It's also lazy writing. If he's part of Jaiying's plot, don't show us the conversations that just don't happen to mention that they're colluding so we'll be "surprised" later.

I'll miss Gonzales. When she infected him, I was hoping he would turn out to be a Cylon Inhuman and survive it.

The movie tie-ins were embarrassingly blatant. Notwithstanding, the movie was awesome! (Just saw it last night.) Can't wait for new MCU thread.

Speaking of, will we be discussing AoS in the MCU thread?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Yes, as well as Agent Carter.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

It's entirely possible that Cal decided to play Trojan horse all on his own, given that he's kind of a loose cannon and hates Coulson. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Jiyaing agreed to Cal's "selfless" offer because she suspected he'd go all rage monster.

That I could live with.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

I just hope Cal survives whatever rage induced shenanigans he gets up to at SHIELD HQ because Kyle MacLachlan has been delightful on AoS and I'd hate to lose him.

brillig

Let's see--Gonzalez dead, Inhumans attacking, Cal will probably lay waste to Phil's nice base on his way to eviscerate Phil, Skye will have to choose sides, Ward doing whatever but evilly, Gemma kicking surprising ass, Fitz being brilliant and cunning, hopefully Mack got out before the carnage begins otherwise he's toast, and perhaps a surprise Avenger appearance, a la last year? Perhaps Fury himself will show up again? I bet Phil's about to inherit an aircraft carrier.

Mr. Scola’s wardrobe by Botany 500

(comics spoilers) How about a giant bulldog shows up and everyone hugs him and all their problems are solved?

Seriously, though, can how much can Jaiying escalate things before the top-tier Inhumans whose movie won't come out until 2019 and haven't been cast yet show up?

Puppies and rainbows are canon? That's kind of awesome.
