And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I am however having a problem with thinking of Skye as someone really creative and impressive and cool under fire when she comes across as so damned young. I don't know how old Chloe Bennett is, but Skye looks like she's about 20.

I think we're supposed to think that she learned how to survive on her own at a very young age, but the show did such a shitty job of building character in the first third of the season that she's also been the wide-eyed ingenue for way too long.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Man, Coulson just can't catch a break.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I was so proud of Skye for leaving the message, I'll overlook a lot of what y'all are complaining about. And seeing Maria Hill and Coulson slip seamlessly take out all the special forces guys with no verbal consultation made me very happy,

Mike Peterson's "just following orders" line was perfect.

Lola! The blase parking guy asking for $20 bucks had to be done, but Coulson reaching for his wallet really sold the bit to me, somehow.

"Huh" is right, Phil.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

I laughed out loud at the LA parking bit. So true! Yeah, your car just fell out of the sky. What? $20.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I thought Skye was awesome the whole episode. Obvs she should have let Ward die but I understand why she couldn't.

I seriously did not expect them to all find out about Ward so soon. This show is moving at fucking full-throttle now.

Man, what is with Marvel and dudes standing in roads?

I hear you, Polter-Cow. This show actually makes me pause when I need to do something else because I want to pay attention, as compared earlier in the season when I'd have it on while folding laundry or checking Tumblr.

brillig

Mike Peterson does have reason to be highly pissed with Skye. She took his son and gave him to SHIELD, who is revealed to be HYDRA, who is responsible for what's happened to Mike. Everything he tried to do to protect his kid has blown up in his face.

Watching people start to say "SHIELD can help--oh, wait, no. Dammit." is good.

That was a great point that I hadn't even thought of. Mike is so fucked.

And it feels like everyone's bringing their A-game acting-wise now that they've got juicy character stuff to play.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Speaking of toys, poor Lola. Man. She's a beater now. I loved that Coulson said, "I can't talk about it."

Hey now, just cuz Lola's been beaten up doesn't make her a beater.

What exactly did/does Ward think he's gonna do with Sky? Turn her? Make her into a kept woman stashed somewhere he thinks is safe? The phrase woman in the fridge is echoing in my head right now, and I'm sure SHIELD's Fridge isn't the only reason.

I don't understand why she did not let Ward die. Did the writers really believe that if she did not pay the ransom, she was responsible for his death? A certain scene from Blazing Saddles keeps running through my head.
