Interview with Ward's actor: [link]
Spoilery if he's telling the truth about Ward's status.
One interesting note is they didn't tell him what was going on until they were near the end of shooting "Yes Men" and he thought they were calling him in to tell him they were killing him off because it's a Joss show.
Next Week AoS is airing a repeat of this past episode at 8 and a new episode at 9.
there are more episodes? This kind of felt like a season finale!
My unspoiled thought upon finally catching up: Ward really is an unbrainwashed Hydra agent. But he going to repent and betray Hydra and rejoin the team. I really hope I'm wrong. But that is how I read his expression at the end. Not someone who was brainwashed. Someone who really regrets his choice.
I had a thought last night that maybe Skye's mysterious 084 power is the ability to enthrall people, and that maybe the reason her village died was that they were fighting each other to the death over her.
I think my subconscious really wants this show to take the Mary Sue trope and burn it to the ground. (Because otherwise Ward repenting his evil HYDRA ways for love of Skye is just annoying.)

Indeed, that would be awesome.

My conscious wants this!
(my subconscious just wants everyone to be happy and stop fighting)
(my subconscious is a bad writer)
I'd be perfectly to see Agent May demonstrating her awesome fighting skills.
It occurred to me ... brainwashing Ward ... is there really that much to wash?
It's a point in his favor when evil masterminds are looking for likely targets. "What about Ward? Good ROI, there, we wouldn't have to expend too many resources to brainwash him. Heck, just a brain rinse should do it."
