Holy shit! I totally did not expect to be right.
Wow. And yeah, I feel sorry for anyone who watched the episode without seeing CA2. (And I can understand folks not bothering on account of how lame the Thor 2 tie-in was.)
ETA: I also feel really sorry for Hand.
Did Skye get the Hydra backup back from Ward? Coulson told Skye to fix the systems, so presumably it would have come up if she didn't have it, but I guess that he could have copied it.
And why have Ward reveal himself? Hydra would have been much better off letting Ward stay in place with everyone thinking that he was clean. He could have gotten the new access codes, protocols, etc.
I have to add to the chorus of WTF with Ward being into Skye. I really hate it when a show tries to shoehorn those relationships into a storyline, and it just isn't there.
I'm only worried that Ward is brainwashed and not really evil. I really want him to be evil.
We never saw Skye get it back.
Well, hopefully Ward being HYDRA will kill any chance of a romance with Skye like a dead thing.
And technically he hasn't revealed himself. The only person who saw him kill a bunch of SHIELD agents and Hand was Garret. Best guess is he'll come crawling back to Coulson with some sob-story about how Garret managed to escape and kill everyone except him.
I'm only worried that Ward is brainwashed and not really evil. I really want him to be evil.
Ooh. Didn't think of that. Yeah, no brain-washing. Evil is far better and more interesting.
The weird look he had at the end is what made me think brainwashing.
I'm not liking the twisty-turny and am fairly certain we aren't done with it yet.
Not liking the actual twists, or that they're doing twists at all?
The storytelling at the end certainly felt like brainwashing. I wonder what Ward and Phil were talking about there at the end--mere comfort at a betrayal or something more? Though Phil wouldn't authorize shooting Hand. Heh, Hand, with the tight shot on her hand.
I thought that Coulson was explaining to Ward that Garret was the Clairvoyant, since he and Skye were busy blowing up the SHIELD computer systems when Garret was revealed.
And yeah, the more I think about the imagery, it's seeming more and more like Ward is brain-washed.
Damn it.
