I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I also quite like Trip and am disturbed by the willingness to kill guys who, at the very least, work for the same guy our guys do. That was certainly a Nick Fury operation in some sense, right? What on earth is Garrett gonna tell whoever he reports to to explain why they didn't immediately come back with Quinn?

Also, I too thought that might be a half-a-Coulson-clone in the jar.

And I was expecting sudden yet inevitable betrayal from Garrett and/or Trip.

I'm totally into seeing some Lady Sif next week! Love her.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I kept waiting for Triplett or Garrett to reveal that they worked for the Clairvoyant.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

The AV Club reviewer theorizes that Garrett is the Clairvoyant.

Just read that. Very convincing!

brillig

That would certainly circumvent all the relief that blowing up the place gave them.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Problem: I do not like Bill Paxton and want all of his characters to DIAF. I was hoping he would be killed quickly.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I KNEW it!

quester is the Clairvoyant!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I just watched the TAHITI episode of SHIELD. I spent half of it yelling, "What are you all doing?! You've killed two SHIELD security guards and blown up a top-secret SHIELD facility, all in the process of disobeying direct orders! You are all going to be court-martialed and thrown in jail! Why are you all acting like everything is just fine now?!" I don't see how they can just go on about their business now as if none of this mattered. I'm willing to handwave a lot of unbelievable stuff for a good story, and I'm fine with nonspecific aliens with super-healing blood kept in suspended animation, but this is ridiculous.

And the next episode brings Lorelei. I've never read a comic with Lorelei in it, so I have no previous knowledge of her, but she looks like the most cliched female character possible. Boring.

I was expecting Coulson to find another Coulson in the tank. I thought the alien was a Chitauri, just because this show follows on the movie they appeared in. Would anyone would hadn't seen the movie have any idea what that alien was? Beyond just the shock of Fuck It's An Alien. Why would anyone who hadn't seen the movie even be watching this show? I was properly horrified by the first Coulson reveal (poor Phil!), but this one seemed anticlimactic. I'm surprised the possibility of aliens being involved with his miraculous recovery never occurred to him. Or that it shocked him so much he nearly went catatonic.

If Garrett were the Clairvoyant, why would he let the mountain with all the secrets he wanted get blown up? Surely he could have divined a way to keep that from turning into an exploding disaster if he were the Clairvoyant.

Were we supposed to lose sympathy for the security guards and not care that the "good" guys killed them, because they refused to let them in to save Skye? Oh, they're mean and evil because they won't respond to a medical emergency! That's stupid. We have no reason to think those guys weren't just innocent people doing their jobs, and I have a real problem with our "heroes" killing them and never giving their deaths a second thought.

I know I'll keep watching to see what they do with it, but I don't much care anymore.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

You've killed two SHIELD security guards and blown up a top-secret SHIELD facility, all in the process of disobeying direct orders! You are all going to be court-martialed and thrown in jail! Why are you all acting like everything is just fine now?!" I don't see how they can just go on about their business now as if none of this mattered.

It wasn't an official SHIELD facility, was it? It was some off-the-books facility without the SHIELD name officially attached, presumably so they could have plausible deniability.

But I agree with you that the team was really damn blase about killing 2 guys, especially when they have Fitz's magic knockout-but-don't-kill gun.

I was expecting Coulson to find another Coulson in the tank.

Me, too. At first I thought the thing in the tank was original!Coulson. (Or, I suppose, half of original!Coulson.)

Surely he could have divined a way to keep that from turning into an exploding disaster if he were the Clairvoyant.

I think the theory isn't that he's literally clairvoyant; it's that his SHIELD clearance is so high that he knows everything the "Clairvoyant" knew...except how Coulson was resurrected. Garrett couldn't find that out with his SHIELD clearance since it was apparently done in that non-SHIELD off-the-books facility.
