OK, did anyone else get the idea that Coulson knew Skye or vice versa? She seemed awful at peace with being with SHIELD.

Jossverse 1: Emotional Resonance & Rocket Launchers
TV, movies, web media--this thread is the home for any Joss projects that don't already have their own threads, such as Dr. Horrible.
Hmmm.
I'm not entirely sold, but it was interesting enough that I'll keep watching.
I don't really have an opinion on the Geek Twins yet, but I do hope they back off the motormouth a little. Grant wasn't as annoying to me as some of you found him, but really he was just sort of there. Melinda May seems to have possibilities, and I actually liked Skye better than I thought I would when she was being promo'd as Sassy!Girl.
Also, notice that Joss is still doing his thing, where whatever supernaturalhuman situation the team runs into is a metaphor for a real-world situation someone is dealing with.
I enjoyed it. Glad I'm not the only one that found Fitz/Simmons amusing while not understanding half of what they're saying.
I also loved the callback to the original "Nick Fury, Agent of Shield Story" at the end. (Strange Tales #135, yes, I had to look up which comic it was actually in, but I remember reading the story as a kid in a Marvel superhero origins collection my dad had.)
Yeah, the line about Thor's arms was great. I also liked "For interpersonal skills, she drew in a little poop with a knife sticking out of it" or whatever the line actually was.

That was pretty hilarious.
Tell me someone else saw a Coulson Matrix backbend there at the end. Why would I make that up?
I saw it, too, ita.

yeah, I saw it.
"Those are...good arms to have." Oh Joss, you and your predictable kinks.
Skye seems a fairly typical Manic Pixie Dream Geek Probably With A Troubled Past. Eh, ok. I guess it's a sci-fi show so we need one of those.
I think Coulson is probably really Coulson and really alive, but "Tahiti" was some kind of extra-terrestrial resurrection technology/magic tank. Good thing he didn't come back wrong!
Fitz/Simmons seemed half-baked to me. Maybe they'll be intelligible in a future ep, and actually funny instead of just potentially so.
(I did actually like it quite a bit. But I hope the characters improve. Maybe we don't need all seventeen of them in every ep going forward.)
"For interpersonal skills, she drew in a little poop with a knife sticking out of it" or whatever the line actually was.
My favorite part of the whole shebang.
I also liked "It's an origin story." and, the god = arms line as perfect.
