Jossverse 1: Emotional Resonance & Rocket Launchers

TV, movies, web media--this thread is the home for any Joss projects that don't already have their own threads, such as Dr. Horrible.

A Look Back At Joss Whedon's ‘Roseanne’ Episodes.

Always Anti-fascist!

That writer has some *serious* class bias...it was like intro to creative writing all over again. And not in a good way. Didn't Joss write the one about Darlene's first period?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Joss is co-writing the SHIELD pilot. Is it confirmed that he'll be writing regularly for it? Or is he just the puppet master?

Deadline reports that Whedon and his Dollhouse and Dr. Horrible collaborators/family members Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen are set to start immediately on a pilot script that Whedon may direct, provided he can find time in his busy schedule of making Disney/Marvel all the big-screen money.

According to an interview he gave to Variety, Whedon's involvement with the series thereafter may be somewhat limited, with Jed and Tancharoen serving as official showrunners alongside former Angel showrunner Jeffrey Bell.

Hmm. That makes me think it's better suited for Boxed Set than here, then.

I dunno, ita, I suspect he'll be down as executive producer, though. Even if he's not regularly writing for it, it's being sold as a Joss Whedon project, not a Jed Whedon/Maurissa Tancharoen project.

It looks like Joss may be moving into J.J. Abrams territory now, where he gets his friends/colleagues shows. Wonder if we'll get more shows that are "From Executive Producer Joss Whedon" even though he's not involved in the day-to-day.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hmm. That makes me think it's better suited for Boxed Set than here, then.

I'd much prefer to discuss it here. It'll get lost in Box Set and this thread is sitting here specifically to deal with Joss projects. So even if he's not writing every episode I think this comes under that purview.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Can we quietly change the thread title to Whedonverse and make everyone who wasn't paying attention think they've shifted to a slightly alternate reality? Because it's (even) easier to defend as a Whedon project than a Joss project.
