I never thought it was depressing. When I lived in Boston I saw it just about quarterly at some rep theater. I loved going to that world.

Speaking of sad and crazy, I finally watched Let the Right One In. I chose the English subtitles and they seemed fine. Afterwards, I saw the examples on the web and, as someone who has seen hundreds of foreign films with subtitles, I don't see what the fuss is about.
