What the hell is going on?! Why did I just see James Marsden as Alan Tudyk and Chris Rock as Matthew McFadyen and Peter Dinklage reprising his role in a remake of Death at a Funeral?! Really? A remake of a three year old movie?
I thought this as soon as I heard about it. It makes me angry just thinking about it.

My only consolations are (1) Peter Dinklage getting paid twice for the same job and (2) me finally getting to see James Marsden nekkid.

It's primarily a black cast. I'd heard this was because it was a Tyler Perry production, but a look at the IMDB page shows no hint of Perry's name.

I didn't hear of Death at a Funeral the first time around, so I didn't realize it's a remake. Of course, that doesn't change the fact that I have no intention of ever seeing it.
The original was perfect for what it was and certainly worth it for the Tudyk scene.
I thought Tudyk was the only good thing about the original, and that it's hardly worth remaking. We had several walkouts when I saw it in the theatre.
I think what bothers me is that it feels like they're pretending the original never existed or at least was overlooked to a great extent (3 years old!!!) and that that is a good thing. It's sort of offensive if you liked or were invested in the original.
