Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
If only they can hold out till Nine is released.
Pfft. That's not the numeral 9.
RIP, Henry Gibson.
I'll need to have memorial screenings of Nashville, The Long Goodbye and The Blues Brothers, methinks.
We must be doing something right to last two-hundred years!
Saw The Informant! last night, and liked it a LOT.
The story could have so easily been done as a cookie-cutter corporate intrigue drama, but Soderbergh plays it as a smart goofy romp instead, and the pacing is just about as perfect as any movie I've ever seen.
The tone reminded me of Burn After Reading and the pacing reminded me of The Spanish Prisoner. Things are revealed in exactly the right order and at exactly the right time. Highly recommend!
Good to know Jessica, thanks. Mr. Jane and I were thinking about going to see that.
We really need to see It Might Get Loud.
Rated R. Nice.

Good to hear. It looked like it could be really good or really bad.
So I've got this great idea for a movie. An alien crashes in the desert behind this kid's house and they befriend each other, maybe even start to share some kind of physical bond. The kid tries to help the alien get back to his home planet (we could have some corporate tie ins here. Say Verizon and the alien could be all "Can you hear me now?" maybe even with a candy company like Skittles or something). It'll be brilliant-make a million, billion dollars.
Imma call it A.B.-Alien Being.
Whatta ya think?
