move out and draw fire

Adding a whole character 4 months before the original sked release date is not a good sign.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

The story's already been updated:

Brad Pitt won't be joining the cast of Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes after all.

a studio rep tells Us: "The report in today’s London Mirror is completely inaccurate. Brad Pitt is not joining the cast of Sherlock Holmes and we're extremely pleased with the production of the film. As planned, it will be released on Christmas Day, 2009. In order to complete the movie, we've scheduled a few days on set to shoot a couple of additional scenes, obtain pick-up shots, and perfect some of the visual effects elements, all of which is standard filmmaking practice."

Bad trashy gossip mags! No biscuit!

Yeah. I mean, the trailers have already been released. That's ... disappointing.

Always Anti-fascist!

"Robert, it's like bad pussy. Forget you sniffed it and move on."(/endless Medellin references) I really hope that's not true, though.

Last night I watched Legends of the Fall with the commentary on - the director and Brad Pitt. It was pretty interesting.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

We're watching The Transporter 3, and Jason Statham just beat up a bunch of guys with his clothes.

I was hoping he'd have to choke a bitch with his pants, but sadly not.

Compassionately intolerant

I love Jason Statham entirely too much...and, by extension, the Transporter series. But I have to say, 3 left me cold. Despite that guy from Prison Break, who is awesome.

Though the vanquishing the enemy with your suit jacket is a scene I'm thrilled is included in each movie. So, very cool.

If they make another, I hope they'll spend a teensy bit more time on story and the supporting characters. The love interest in 1 and the kid and the crazy blond chick in 2 and the French cop in both made me _care_ about why the driver is so cool. It's not just the arms and the spectacular driving.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Throughout "The Bank Job" I was bouncing in my seat in the theater wondering where the fight scene(s) would be. I mean, where the fuck are the fight scenes? It takes too long to get there, IMO, but I liked the movie anyway!

brillig

Saw the 2nd X-Files movie last night, and it was a great deal of fun. Like a really long, meaty episode. And lots of touches that make complete sense only to long-time fans. I loved that Mulder and Scully were so comfortable together even in a romantic relationship--laughing in bed, making bad jokes, Mulder-Scully pillow talk about toxicology results.

And Skinner! "He won't do anything crazy." And Scully turning to give him the perfect look of "How long have you known us?"

Wow, this review of Inglorious Basterds makes it sound like an incredible film. I might just have to see it, even though I usually find Tarantino films tiresomely self-indulgent.
