Shaun the Sheep is the expected whimsical delight from Aardman Studios. It's interesting that there's essentially no dialog in the entire movie.
I saw this over the weekend, and thought it was utterly adorable. The Silence of the Lambs shout-out had me crying with laughter.
I've been on a Red Dragon/Manhunter/Hannibal kick all week, so that was a major draw for me as well. I just wish it hadn't been shown in one of the trailers I saw.
B. and I were the only people in the cinema laughing at that shout-out. Hey, kid, you're only 13, how the hell did you get that? Turns out nowadays you get all your pop-cultural references on youtube in handy bite-sized chunks.
There's no dialogue in any of the Shaun the Sheep tv episodes either.
That particular scene is so iconic I'm surprised more kids didn't get it through osmosis.
Rose loves the Shaun the Sheep TV show, so I'm taking her to see the movie this afternoon, but I was surprised to see that it's rated PG (for "rude humor"). I doubt she'll get whatever jokes that's referring to, so that doesn't bother me, but is there anything else I should be aware of? Are there any particularly scary bits?
IMDB has really useful parental guides, in that they describe what happens in the scene and let YOU decide if it is scary, etc. [link]
Casper's first film in the theater was The Curse of the Were-Rabbit at about Rose's age, and my favorite part was when she was like, "That's a really big rabbit."
Finally saw Terminator Genisys this weekend, and I have one question that I don't know if I missed or they just didn't answer. I searched back in the thread, but couldn't find the Terminator Talk, and couldn't remember exactly when it came out to narrow down my search. So, if anybody else saw it, did they ever make it clear who sent Pops back to Sarah in 1973?

We took the kids to see 2001 yesterday (in 70mm at AMMI!), and Aeryn's only question about the plot was, repeatedly after the first 20 minutes, asking "Where did the monkeys go?"
That seems like a sensible perspective from which to interrogate that text.
