Tom beat me, and oh my dear god, my geek panties are wet.
(Huh. That above post needs context, but Imma let it stand.)
Coolness. I have no comics knowledge whatsoever, but I'm glad the MCU head honchos finally got around to planning movies not headlined by yet another white dude.
Cumberbatch is not announced as Doctor Strange so it looks like that's not yet confirmed.
Chadwick Boseman?
I'm sure he will be fine, but what about all the other guys?
Didn't they tell you, ita? He's our New Black Headliner. You only get one.
I'm sure he will be fine, but what about all the other guys?
Someone's got to be Luke Cage.
With his backstory and when he was created, they wouldn't have had to specify whiteness there. That's kind of the reality of America's fucked up system. (Plus he's totally drawn like Vincent Price, who was totally awesome, but also an upper class rich white guy. So they're are literally doing this whole creepy gross classification by what you view as stereotypical features, and this would make so much more sense were I not on my phone.)
Really, if we were to go back to the characters roots the ideal person to portray him would be Peter Sellers in his Murder by Death yellowface.
I don't know how I feel about all this. Too many wars. No Black Widow movie. Possible Cumberbatch overload. Maybe I won't feel anything about it for a while.
