Having seen Snowpiercer (and with his Sunshine role in the back of my head) I'm going on record that Chris Evans is not a douche. Haven't seen either CAs but I liked him as Cap in Avengers.

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Going back over her argument, it seems she was using "douche" as a general term for "someone's behavior/attitude that I don't like" rather than the more common definition of jerk/scumbag/sleezy. Based on what she was saying, the term she was actually going for was "self-righteous prick". Of course, I disagree with that assessment as well.
Did Chris do a bunch of fratty movies? I know the description matches Johnny Storm, but even the romcom I can remember him in he wasn't a self-righteous prick. I'm assuming these people didn't watch Push or Sunshine--what else was his rep riding on, if anything?
Opposite Sex ?
I have not seen that. Worth looking at?
This person's issue was with Cap specifically rather than Chris Evans or his portrayal. I have no idea if she saw Evans in any other movies that would have influenced her impression. (Though if you're looking for a douche role for him, Lucas Lee certainly qualifies.)

Lucas Lee the skateboarder in the Scott Pilgrim movie! (Although I think he was hilarious and perfect in that movie. There are even mock posters of movies that his character was in: [link]

Heh, it was a short-lived Fox series that I don't think anyone actually remembers, but it had Chris Evans, Milo Ventimiglia, and Allison Mack! I remember enjoying it and finding it funny, but I think it's me and this one other person.

That's a good point. Maybe that's it?
I'm trying to remember if I thought Evans was mocking himself as well in Scott Pilgrim at the time.
It was my favourite part of the movie, for sure. But then, I didn't like the movie all that much.
Tom Hardy is quoted as saying he'll probably not do another romantic comedy. Despite quoting the "probably" in the body of the article, Jezebel feels a) this warrants an article and b) they should remove the "probably" from the headline.
