Finally made it to GotG last night. So. Much. Fun.
My only gripe was wasting Lee Pace as Generic Marvel Villain (TM). I couldn't see any there there other than unmotivated malice. Granted, I also wouldn't have known that was Karen Gillan if I hadn't known she was in it, but at least she had some interesting character beats.
Random aside: Bradley Cooper has had a mighty strange career arc.

Yeah, on another site someone mentioned the only real acting Pace got to do was his befuddlement when
Quill was trying to engage him in a dance-off.
To be fair, though, that was kind of awesome.
OK, I can agree with that.
I just saw it last night with my aunt! (She enjoyed it, btw)
During the dance-off scene, you know Pace has acting chops because he didn't crack up.
Amazing how so many of the characters have stayed with me into the next day. The biggest surprise was Bautista's Drax, who was yet another key point of comic relief and good characterization.

Yes. I totally didn't expect to like him, but he ended up being my favorite character.
I would like to star Theo and Steph's posts.
The thing that makes me even happier about Drax is that Bautista really, REALLY wanted the part and apparently broke down and wept when he heard he got it.
