Did anyone else notice the reindeer with his tongue stuck to the ice stairs when Anna and Kristoff slide past? It was such a throwaway moment, but it was so funny! I thought for sure they'd pan back to him, but they never did!
I love Frozen so much! I actually had no desire to see it because the snowman looked extremely annoying, but I ended up really liking him.

I know! I loved that. Poor Sven.
We're watching "Room 237", which is all about these crazy-ass conspiracies people have about "The Shining." My favorite one so far (spoilers!) is the guy who believes the movie is about Kubrick's experience faking the Apollo moon landing footage for the U.S. government.
He supplanted my previous favorite, the guy who said it was about the massacre of the Native Americans.
I keep meaning to watch that.
I had to stop that film when the minotaur stuff came up. I laughed so loud for so long I gave myself a headache and nearly passed out. I was no more good for the rest of the night. The minotaur stuff is EVERYTHING.
The other stuff is absolutely batshit, but the minotaur thing is just amazeballs.
Desolation of Smaug was a lot of fun. It's still at least half an hour too long (there's a couple of set pieces I'd happily trade for more time with Beorn) but, you know, three more hours in Middle Earth! So yay!
Smaug is magnificent. Truly incredible.
Watching Thorin and Thranduil glare at each other, priceless.
Jilli, if you are planning to see this and want to avoid the scene with the...well, you know...hide your eyes from
right after Bilbo sees the butterflies
to when
Thorin says "Where's Bilbo?"
and then again after that little bit is done, until
you hear Elvish.
Neither of the screenings I've been to have had the HFR version, so I guess I'll be seeing it a third time in theaters at some point.
My kids are already clapping their hands with glee over that movie, Jessica. It seems I'll get to see it in theaters this time. Lucky me!
Thank you for the warning points, Jessica!

That's pretty much why I want to see the movie. All hail Thranduil, King of Bitchface!
All hail Thranduil, King of Bitchface!
Even the King of Bitchface is no match for Thorin Emoshield and his feels. And his hair. Which also has feels.
Vampire Academy, directed by the guy who did Mean Girls. Are the books any good?
