Spike: I'm not a monster. Xander: Yes! You are a monster. Vampires are monsters! They make monster movies about them! Spike: Well, yeah. Got me there.

I LOVE Grapes of Wrath. Look at us, with our wildly divergent opinions and what not.

Heh. I hated it so much that I blanked it mostly from my memory.

Hey. New board.

I loved Gatsby and Grapes, though East of Eden is the Steinbeck tome I really adore.

I saw Catching Fire today. Whoever cast Jennifer Lawrence deserves all the money. You have to really trust your actress to end a blockbuster film script with close up on Katniss face while her face slowly turns from utter to despair then determination then cut to black.

I thought it was very well done across the board but seriously. Jennifer Lawrence.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Gris, I said the exact same thing. Heh.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I HAD to teach White Fang. I freaking hated it.

Gatsby, OTOH, I quite like, even though I don't like any of the characters.

I know the Frozen trailers make it look like a silly adventure about an annoying snowman, but it is so much better than that. It's focused on the relationship between two sisters, and even though there's a romance, it's secondary. I don't even remember the last good movie I saw about sisters. Plus, the snowman turns out to be hilarious and adorable. So many things I wanted to happen in this movie actually happened. Well done, Disney.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

We went to see The Book Thief last night. My family liked it more than I did, but then I had loved the book so much it would have been hard to meet my expectations. The acting is marvelous all around (except possibly for the boy who played Rudi). I'd recommend it, although it's not exactly a feel-good family movie, given that basically everyone dies in the end.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I saw Oldboy - Spike Lee.

What a fucked up movie that is.

I wonder how it stacks up to the original, which was also pretty fucked up.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I did not see the original. Nor do I want to now. I understand the point of it all is more understandable in the original, but it was lost on me in this movie.

The movie is okay, but the plot is not good.
