Oh, smacked in the noggin with a 2x4 wrapped in velvet. Yeah, that's what it felt like.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I adore Loki. He's one of my favorite movie villains. (The fact that Hiddles plays him doesn't hurt.) But I also liked the scene in prison where it showed Thor is getting a bit wise to some of Loki's tricks. 'Cause I like my heroes to have a brain cell or two to spare, too.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Does Loki improve in this movie, or did you already like him from his previous appearances? I mean, I'm going in pretty cold (and mystified)--is there a strong chance I'll be won over, or is it more a celebration for the people who were already invited?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I did not like him previously and I like him now.

Oh and my favorite part of Loki is that he apparently can get himself together and flat iron his hair when he needs to go to war .

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I liked him fine already, and my favorite moment is still the one from the ad with the slap.

Okay, that's promising. I don't need him sympathetic, I need compelling.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I thought prior to this movie he was absolutely over the top and one-note. I didn't even understand WTF he was coming from. I feel like at this point, I better understand the character. They added some layers.

Beau explained some things to me which also helped.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

So, the reason to see it in 3D is the Winter Soldier preview in front of it. The reason not to see it is everything else, because I still think 3D is ugh.

I like 3D, but this movie has almost no 3D at all. You could barely tell they did anything to it at all, which is disappointing since it could have been very cool with some added depth.

I really enjoyed the movie. I liked the first movie more than I thought I would, but the trailers for this one didn't really excite me too much. But ten minutes in, it became clear this movie was about ELVES WITH SPACESHIPS and I was in because why not.

I also loved the multi-world fight scene. I'd never seen anything like it (there may have been something like it in Jumper, now that I think about it), and it felt like the filmmakers had seized upon the opportunity to do something new and interesting and had a lot of fun with it.

The Chris Evans cameo was hilarious. ALSO! The wonderful moment where Thor hangs up his hammer on the coat hanger was improvised. Bless you, Chris Hemsworth.

His reaction to Frigga's death was well done.

Loved the Capt America cameo so much. Chris Evans playing Loki mocking Cap was fabulous.

Something in the credits made me laugh - Stan Lee was credited as himself. Given where he appeared, I snerked out loud.

eta Crap, is that a spoiler? I mean he always cameos. Screwit, I'll s font it for the sake of argument.
