I just saw Frankenweenie. That lightly hit a few current hot buttons, but what a fun movie. Definitely the best Tim Burton movie since...I think I may go with Jilli here and say Big Fish.
And, again, agreeing with Jilli, I'm not sure I could see Big Fish again anytime soon.
Having now seen Cloud Atlas twice in one week, I can safely say that it is an amazing movie. It's got a lot of problems, and as a fan of the book I wish they'd gone in a different direction, but still, it's a phenomenal accomplishment.
Just about three hours. Which isn't as long as it sounds, considering that there are six storylines in play.
(That's a lie, it's very long, and it feels long. But in a good way that makes you want to use the word "epic.")
Speed Racer was long in the sense that it would have been a much better film if they cut at least 45 minutes from it.
Hello Tailor has a killer review of Skyfall; it makes me want to run right out and see it:

Ack, thanks-- Yes, there are spoilers.
note: above review has spoilers!
Sorry, le n--I tend not to think of spoilers w/rt Bond, but there is one specific thing I wish I hadn't known...
it doesn't really bother me, but I am warning others.
Okay, having seen the movie, that is NOT the spoiler I was worried it was. Whew.
