How long is Cloud Atlas?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Just about three hours. Which isn't as long as it sounds, considering that there are six storylines in play.

(That's a lie, it's very long, and it feels long. But in a good way that makes you want to use the word "epic.")

Speed Racer was long in the sense that it would have been a much better film if they cut at least 45 minutes from it.

Sorry, le n--I tend not to think of spoilers w/rt Bond, but there is one specific thing I wish I hadn't known...

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Okay, having seen the movie, that is NOT the spoiler I was worried it was. Whew.

brillig

went to see Brave today. Yay, dollar movies! Only one crying baby, who was promptly removed to the lobby, and several pre-teen girls--a pack? horde? scurry? giggle?--who gasped in the right places, laughed appropriately, and weren't annoying.

A Disney movie with both parents! Amazing! and what a very pretty movie.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

We saw Paranorman last night and really enjoyed it. I know it's packed with horror references and the few I got, I liked--I know a must hav missed a lot, since I'm not normally a horror aficionado. Great, idiosyncratic visual style, too.
