Who would make a better Nick?
JGL?
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Who would make a better Nick?
JGL?
There's a good chance I'll see it, I really do wish someone else had Tobey's role. Who would make a better Nick? Let's fantasy cast.
Isn't Tobey old for the role? Isn't Nick like 22?
Yeah, Nick's a callow youth who gets bedazzled by Gatsby's life.
edit: Oh, lord, I'm now picturing Nick covered in rhinestones.
do you know who I envision as Nick (but he would need to be a bit younger)? Matt Bomer. I think he could do Nick really well.
JGL?
To quote Rihanna in the Battleship trailer, BOOM.
edit: Oh, lord, I'm now picturing Nick covered in rhinestones.
Well JGL could come close to carrying that look off.
Matt Bomer is an excellent suggestion. Sharp suits and yearning? Oh yeah, he can do that.
Tobey Maguire is the one major weak spot in that trailer. I don't understand why people keep casting him in period pieces, he looks and sounds ridiculous in them.
I saw a trailer the other day for a period piece about moonshiners, called Brothers, I think. It starred Shia LaBoeuf and he looked utterly out of place. Also, he's just not old enough to carry that role.
Yeah, Jilli, I do want to hit him until he talks like a normal person, and then maybe a little more.
Oh good, then it's not just me. ita !, will you be my designated hitter? I know you know how to throw a punch, unlike me.
I don't understand why people keep casting him in period pieces, he looks and sounds ridiculous in them.
THIS! It's like when Keanu kept getting cast in costume dramas. Why was he in Dangerous Liaisons, why? Or Dracula?
