A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I've seen it twice already. Friday I'll be going again with a friend--it'll be the second time for her, and it's been many years since she's seen the same movie twice in theaters.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

On Micole's LJ she pointed to this Tumblr for thoughtful Avengers fannish squee. Not even squee, just intriguing analysis, here exploring the friendship that blossoms between Tony Stark and Bruce Banner.

the friendship that blossoms between Tony Stark and Bruce Banner.

From their first scene in the lab together, I thought, "Holy crap, I didn't even see this coming." Because it is so RIGHT. Not even in a slashy way, though I don't count that out. But...yeah.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The funny part is, you know they would totally make faces at Reed Richards behind his back.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

The funny part is, you know they would totally make faces at Reed Richards behind his back.

I can even hear Tony snarking about how Reed needs to be able to stretch his body out that much to accomodate the extra long stick up his ass.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I do not like shawarma (tzatziki sauce on lamb is not for me), but I did make falafels last night and will be having them in pitas with cucumber, tomato, and garlic sauce for my next couple of meals.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I don't like pickles in any form, so that puts me off some Mediterranean dishes as they are prepared here.

Shwarma is the meat in gyros, right? In which case, NOM.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

no. I think it is the sauce and related fixings. I have had chicken Shwarma (sp?) before. I could not take it because of the pickles.

Dang, Hec, you shouldn't have shared that link! I want to read the whole Tumblr, and instead I have to edit shit about postoperative atrial fibrillation.

Guess which one is more interesting.
