Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Speaking of Star Trek and Davis, I saw Star Trek last weekend at the Somerville Theater in Davis Square, and that might have been the nerdiest crowd I've ever been part of. And I saw Serenity opening night. Tons of clapping (including for the previews for Terminator AND Transformers), everyone got every reference, these two girls in front of me were visibly flailing throughout.

It was good times.

Great. He just gave me a whole new avenue to get lost down...

I'd say 4:25-ish.

(Yeah, I'm anal about the time to arrive at a theater. But since Trek's been out for two weeks, maybe it won't be that full.)

I might arrive early and hang out at Cafeneo (4655 N. Lincoln) until then. Free WiFi!

move out and draw fire

More random thoughts on Star Trek, in the form of questions:

The physics were ridic. Absolute trash. And you don't normally see that kind of body count in a romantic comedy. But I still adored it and want to see it again. Why is that?

Wasn't someone bugged about the geography of San Francisco in it? Can you hand-wave that with the same Big Reset Button that puts the Grand Canyon in Iowa?

Does Zach Quinto get honorary goth points for his character's parents being played by two goth icons (or deputy assistant icons, as it may be)?

Why could I recognize Deep Roy immediately but not figure out who Sarek was for hours? I think it may be the way Roy runs.

Can anyone say "way Roy runs" five times fast?

Oh wait, we only have to spoiler-font the HSQ-moments of Trek now, right?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

There was an actual physical flailer sitting in the row in front of me. A bit distracting, with the arms waving.

Lady behind me took a couple phone calls. I shot her a death look and her friend suggested she leave. She only went as far as the hallway, so she was still audible. I knew she was trouble, based on the way she was talking through the trailers. Abysmal taste, and unable to whisper or keep a thought to herself.
