At the HP showing, we got trailers for the next Dark Knight (a bare glimpse) and the next Sherlock Holmes, which is slash slash slashier than ever. At least the trailer seemed to emphasize that.
Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
The same trailers that were linked to here, or new ones?
for me, same trailers.
We got those two plus a Captain America I had seen online.
I went to a discounted showing of HP7 for my company at 9AM. Discount, good, but I got one fucking trailer! I feel very cheated.
As for the movie,
FUCK YEAH NEVILLE LONGBOTTOM.
Also, I cried at pretty much the points I expected to. The scene in the woods with Harry and his parents and Remus/Sirius was great.
Now to go reread the books.
Dropping out of lurkdom to say, that I did read one JK Rowling interview when the last book was published (don't remember where) in which she talked about the whole Luna/Neville thing and said that while she never intended them to be together (and she doesn't think they do end up together) that Luna and Neville always did unintentionally become linked together in scenes when she was writing them. And she said she could totally see why fans envisioned them together later.
Also, I saw the movie tonight and it was awesome. I also cried. For me it started the moment Harry got done reading the pensieve and sat there realizing he had to die and continued through the woods scene. They did a great job with those scenes. Daniel Radcliffe was terrific. I also love how since we've had 8 movies, that characters like Sirius can pop up for like, two lines, and be so affecting and heartbreaking.
Guilermo Del Toro and Gus Grisly are making a stop motion, very goth looking Pinocchio.
Why is it stop-motion works so well with gothic themes? Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Coraline, Brothers Quya, Jan Svankmajer...
When have dolls not been goth?
Since Barbie?
New Aardman Pirate movie trailer.
Cool!
Yay!
(Still outraged that Brian Blessed isn't the Pirate Captain, though.)
