Dropping out of lurkdom to say, that I did read one JK Rowling interview when the last book was published (don't remember where) in which she talked about the whole Luna/Neville thing and said that while she never intended them to be together (and she doesn't think they do end up together) that Luna and Neville always did unintentionally become linked together in scenes when she was writing them. And she said she could totally see why fans envisioned them together later.
Also, I saw the movie tonight and it was awesome. I also cried. For me it started the moment Harry got done reading the pensieve and sat there realizing he had to die and continued through the woods scene. They did a great job with those scenes. Daniel Radcliffe was terrific. I also love how since we've had 8 movies, that characters like Sirius can pop up for like, two lines, and be so affecting and heartbreaking.
Guilermo Del Toro and Gus Grisly are making a stop motion, very goth looking Pinocchio.
Why is it stop-motion works so well with gothic themes? Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Coraline, Brothers Quya, Jan Svankmajer...
When have dolls not been goth?
New Aardman Pirate movie trailer.
Yay!
(Still outraged that Brian Blessed isn't the Pirate Captain, though.)
I end up seeing a lot of stuff on instant out of curiosity that I would never have brought home from the video store. Right now I'm watching
Ninjas Versus Vampires.
It's no
Die You Zombie Bastards
but it's pretty entertaining. One vampire in particular is quite good but I wish they'd injected more action & humor. Anyway, if you feel the need to Watch All of the Vampire Things, here's another.
Saw it. Loved it. Neville is Da Man. The End.
(Still outraged that Brian Blessed isn't the Pirate Captain, though.)
I couldn't tell from the trailer, but is that based on those
Pirates!
books you recommended?
Yes! The British trailer has the original title. And a shanty.

That is a pretty great shanty.
