ION, the Sucker Punch trailer is insane
For serious! Zack Snyder movies do make for awesome trailers. I fall for them EVERY TIME.
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

This is true. I've enjoyed his movies (yes, even the brainless 300) but the first trailers for 300 and Watchmen were so much more exciting than the movies.
He always gets such great music for them, too. Well, I really don't know whether he has any input in the trailers, but I agree that the first trailers for both those movies were better than the actual movies. I want to watch them over and over. I'm sure I'll be watching this one a bunch too.
Huh, this is new to me - Let Me In RED BAND trailer

Speaking of which, remember how I was curious about the 80s film version of Something Wicked This Way Comes?
Well, it's not bad at all. Great cast: Jonathan Pryce as Mr. Dark is perfect. Pam Grier as the Dust Witch is less obvious but works very well. Jason Robards is fine as the father. The whole thing looks great. But they replace the scene in the book where the Dust Witch attacks the boys via balloon (presumably because it was too expensive to film) with an invasion of tarantulas. Lots and lots of them.

Oh, I know!

And that, right there, is why I'm disappointed in the movie. Otherwise, I think it's a wonderful version of one of my favorite books. Jonathan Pryce as Mr. Dark is wonderful. But the Dust Witch did NOT need to become some sort of spider queen.
Maybe they were giant dust mites?

On my second Inception watch, I noticed a certain musical allusion in the main theme, but yeah. Hearing it broken down like that is nuts.
As for Ariadne's token, the French call the bishop "le fou," meaning the fool or court jester. IOW, the one who has full license to tell the king unpleasant truths. Also, Ariadne's Thread is a logic strategy, and it is used among other things in computer chess games.
Y'all don't want to know how long I've spent googling shit related to this movie.
