Smooth, buttery texture? I dunno. I mean, butters just *feel* different from jam. And they cook differently.
Jelly = gelled fruit juices in the US. I don't make a lot of jelly, though I've made cranberry jelly in the past for toothless elders, and tea jellies because I could.
brenda, I found bottles like that at a local store called Kitchenworks. I don't think they're a chain, but evidently they're online.
Good luck with the rat, Laga! My cat brought e a shrew this morning, but it was already dead and shrew-sized rather than rat-sized. so much less trouble.

Social networking dilemma:
Husband of an acquaintance had a horrible heart attack followed by many complications, which delayed having the bypass or whatever that he normally would have had in fairly short order. It is indeed a lucky and excellent thing that he pulled through, and today finally had the far more extensive surgery which should stabilize him, and I can't understate how genuinely pleased I am that he's pulled through this far and the repairs went well.
But, and here I go into very small petty I am an awful person voice, I kinda want to unlike acquaintance's announcement on FB -- not to pull any sense of support from her, which wouldn't ever want to do, and so I never actually would -- but because I'm being absolutely fucking BURIED in email from random people I don't know that all pretty much say "yay!" and ":)" and the like.
rat update: she has fled out the front door. Cat is currently penned up inside to give rattus time to get away. We thank-you for your support.
amych, could you just temporarily un-check the preference that you want to be e-mailed when other people comment on the same thing you commented on?
(Is that even a preference for FB?)
