amych, could you just temporarily un-check the preference that you want to be e-mailed when other people comment on the same thing you commented on?
(Is that even a preference for FB?)
'Beneath You'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

It... probably is. But I find it hard enough to find my way through all the million prefs to find the right ones, let alone remember what I want them to be. Stupid facebook.
(IOW, good suggestion -- I'll do that.)

You can also filter it out of your gmail.

Easier still, since Facebook is so made of fail today that it's crashing every time I try to get to the settings page. Bah.
(Mostly, I feel heartless and trollish and therefore seek technological solutions. Sigh.)
Those notifications drive me crazy too.
Calli, thanks! Just what I needed. Vortex and Laga, um, points for effort.
But, and here I go into very small petty I am an awful person voice, I kinda want to unlike acquaintance's announcement on FB -- not to pull any sense of support from her, which wouldn't ever want to do, and so I never actually would -- but because I'm being absolutely fucking BURIED in email from random people I don't know that all pretty much say "yay!" and ":)" and the like.
I had this dilemma a few days ago. I was thinking I should wait to say Happy Birthday or whatever in the future for a while until the mass of people had posted so I wouldn't be inundated.
I cannot believe how much I have to skip around here after only 5 days of university (this just in: I'll actually study MORE than the previous year. Hello, 52 credit points! [out of total sum of 120. And I already have 51. Yes, I'll end with more credit than I theoretically need, but not practically. The joy of studying in two different faculties, let me tell you about it]).
But.
Erasure. A Little Respect. I'm concerned about the lyrics, and that has nothing to do with respect, since I have little to none.
Yes. That is what disturbing me now, as I collapse to bed and to blessed sleep. Erasure. For some reason, I figured you'd understand.
And I really really weally want to go back 300 posts and read what I've missed this week, so stop talking so much, all of you.
So the last thing I looked at on eBay was the collar Steph linked to.
Imagine Joe's surprise when he pulled up eBay today and got a look at the "Recommendations based on your last viewing".
snerk.
The workshop went well! It started out with technical difficulties, but the audience was pretty receptive and appeared to be learning a lot. Thankfully, I knew a couple people, which made me feel a little more comfortable. With all the questions and discussion, I somehow managed to reach the halfway point way before I usually do, so I actually had to speed through some of the later slides to finish on time. Several people told me they really liked the workshop and it was exactly what they were looking for, so whew.
Tonight I lead a coffee and dessert klatch called "From ABC to The WB: TV Worth Talking About," which will be much less stressful.
Great to hear, P-C. See, we told you that it would rock!
