[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Stay sane!

These days, it's almost a daily challenge. Which you guys help me to excel.

The status is NOT quo.

{{{Shir}}} It's a lot to handle. We're here for venting, hugging, and general distraction.

In meme news, man, I worked my butt off today. I got a lot done and yet have so much to do that it's not even funny. Still, here's what I accomplished:

  • Finished initial set-up for wedding website
  • Paid first installment for invitations
  • Deposited a check
  • Mailed three packages that have been sitting around my house forever
  • Picked up my wedding dress and left a message for costumer friend who's going to alter it
  • Cleaned kitchen
  • Graded 13 freshman essays
  • Read/annotated two articles and a short story for school
  • Completed RBT homework (grad class all the teachers at my school are taking), which included reading an article and a few chapters of the textbook and completing an analytical homework assignment
  • Graded 17 citation quizzes

Ima collapse in bed and try not to think about how much more I have to do tomorrow.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

I am writing my literature review. I'm 700 words in to what should end up about 3000, so I'm getting there, but it's excrutiatingly hard work, because I'm having exhaustion issues. About twice a year, my condition descends into two or three months of being too exhausted to walk across the room, and having to sleep about every four hours. It has timed it really well this time around, with six weeks left until my dissertation deadline. Genius move, body of mine.

I had to scan posts, as I am tired tired tired, but best wishes to anyone dealing whose family is dealing with snake bites or diesel mistakes.

Kristin, that's a lot of work achieved. I am envious.

Shir, best of luck with everything. I can't see you becoming any kind of right-wing type. But keep posting here, and we'll warn you if we see early signs of this!

I'm off for a nap before starting work again.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Why are the bells across the street at the episcopal cathedral playing Frère Jacques at 9 am on a Sunday morning?

I believe Wolfram & Hart created a costumed designed version of suburbia hell for you.

I just finished another delighting yet now I'm confused conversation with that guy (and I was wrong there - he's not studying for his PhD, but for his M.A..) If this will continue, this will be a hell of an interesting year.

Edit to say: thank you for your hugs, people. I really appreciate it. I'm just trying to let everything sink in, and embracing "I surrender myself to destiny, even if it's a bitch" approach. I'm just tired of fighting.

Wow, a lot of awful/stressful stuff has happened to my Buffistas this week.

Hugs, hairpats, chocolate, and stiff drinks to everyone.

Our wings are not tired.

Hello all. Are you feeling better this morning, Barb?

DH and crew are doing much better today. They are now looking for a fire house to drop off the containers of mixed diesel and gas. That was the recommendation for what to do with the stuff. He is now at KMart buying a new set of clothes since he hadn't planned on staying overnight or drenching himself in gas. Ewww.

ION, I must share my litter bug story. I went to McDonalds to purchase chicken stuff for my son and had to pull up and wait. As I was sitting there a pickup truck pulled into the parking lot and the driver got out with a big plastic cup in his hand and threw it on the ground before walking inside the restaurant. Total reflex, I threw both my hands in the air and gave him my most outraged Mom Look. He didn't pick it up then, but he did when he came back out and threw it away. I think I should do this more often.

Laura, that's just too good. Your mom look is clearly very powerful. You should use it to fight crime more often.

Shir, as much as confusing is, well, confusing, it could be good, too! I hope it works out well.
