Do I wish I was somebody else right now. Somebody not... married, not madly in love with a beautiful woman who can kill me with her pinkie!

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

My mother just sent me to this link for flea/heartworm medication: [link]

If your pets use this, it's the formula as the US, but much cheaper. Kind of like buying drugs in Canada, I guess.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I really need to go to the market today. I have been putting it off for days, but if I don't go today we won't have any dairy products for our coffee and tea tomorrow morning. That could be dangerous.

What is even happening?

Oh Seska, much love and many prayers for TG's father (and TG, you and your whole family).

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Vortex, your dad sounds great!

Ok, random change of topic. I just got this question from a friend and don't know the answer:

Do you remember, and I'm paraphrasing, the author who said that one should look for a partner in life with whom one shares conversation, because conversation is the only thing one may have when one is old? And can you direct me to the quote?

Anyone know?

I believe there's a quote in one of Dorothy Sayers' Lord Peter books similar to this. The Dowager Duchess is musing about men picking women for looks, like a suite of living room furniture, and then having to try to have conversations with them over the dinner table 20 years later. If this might be it I'll be happy to research further, although I might get sucked into the Lord Peter books for a while in the process. Not a problem!

“Not dead yet!”

Seska, I blame this on the coffee not kicking in yet, but many thoughts and ~ma for TG and you and of course, TG's dad.

Our wings are not tired.

{{Seska and family}} My neighbor was diagnosed the same week as Swayze and all the publicity surrounding his ups and downs were watched closely. We thought we were going to lose him several times after his surgery and horrific chemo. I just was talking to him in the driveway a couple days ago and he is doing great now. Looks fabulous and seems healthier than I have seen him in 10 years. The doctors were talking 5-10% chance when he first had surgery. Scary shit. I know the Swayze loss is going to hit him and his partner hard.
