You'd be surprised how much it would cost to replace all your belongings--DVDs, clothes, computer, electronics, etc.
It all adds up, I know! I suppose if I lost everything, money might ease the pain. A tiny bit.

Owie. My shoulder's throbbing. And I took the last of the drugs that actually work last night, and don't see the doctor again until Friday. A hot shower will help some, but I'm going to do that later. For now, lying on the couch and whimpering.

I was just inspired to check on renter's insurance. With the minimums for my area and such, it would be $280 a year.

I have more insurance than I know what to do with. Personal coverage on the C230, commercial vehicle insurance on the GMC and Dodge trucks, General Liability Insurance for my company, renters insurance for the house, and currently three life insurance policies.
I am a bad bad person and don't currently have renter's insurance, though it's been on my list for a while. But I had it for many years, grouped with my car insurance, and it was only like, $90 a year.
It's one of those things you should totally have, mostly because if your apartment burns down, it will be SO VERY WORTH IT.
When I added my condo insurance to my car insurance I actually ended up paying $3-4 less per month than I did for just car insurance. It really pays to have it (condo/renter insurance.) That was with State Farm, though, I don't know about any other insurance companies.
