You'd be surprised how much it would cost to replace all your belongings--DVDs, clothes, computer, electronics, etc.

I was just inspired to check on renter's insurance. With the minimums for my area and such, it would be $280 a year.

I have more insurance than I know what to do with. Personal coverage on the C230, commercial vehicle insurance on the GMC and Dodge trucks, General Liability Insurance for my company, renters insurance for the house, and currently three life insurance policies.
I am a bad bad person and don't currently have renter's insurance, though it's been on my list for a while. But I had it for many years, grouped with my car insurance, and it was only like, $90 a year.
It's one of those things you should totally have, mostly because if your apartment burns down, it will be SO VERY WORTH IT.
