Most people is pretty quiet right about now. Me, I see a stiff -- one I didn't have to kill myself -- I just get, the urge to, you know, do stuff. Like work out, run around, maybe get some trim if there's a willin' woman about... not that I get flush from corpses or anything. I ain't crazy.

Weekend - expected mid-70s! (There is still lumpensnow in shady areas in the yard as of today, though.) Clean up fallen branches and assorted debris from snowstorm; plant peas and spinach. Hit new coffee shop with excellent donuts. Decide about summer travel plans and Casper's camps. Clean house in preparation for a visit from my mother. Maybe work on painting the bathroom a little. Plus the usual laundry/groceries/children routine.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Saturday: Humans.

Sunday: Dirt.

Sunday: Dirt.

Hopefully the dirt from Sunday isn't for burying the humans from Saturday.

Because books.

Weekend:

Dealing with sick five-year-old. Copyediting. Possibly Watchmen. Napping.

I suppose that depends on how well I deal with a full day of humans. But I think we have plenty of organic matter for the garden already.

I found out my daughter's class is covering forces and gravity. I was trying to tell how gravity is really cool and is the warping of time and space. I also tried telling how time slows down for observers in higher gravity. She seemed really unimpressed by all this. I did tell her to stick with the class answer of 'force that attracts objects to each other' rather than 'warping of space-time' on any tests.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Hopefully the dirt from Sunday isn't for burying the humans from Saturday.

So glad I wasn't the only one who went there.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Tonorrow, drive up to Santa Barbara to meet J's parents for Brunch of the In-Laws. Tomorrow noight, mom's last night and out for dinner plus watching ER (her fave show). Sunday, mom to airport, cleaning, cleaning, cleaning and movies with friends.

Punishingly Intricate

Tonight I'm taking Frank the dog to the vet. I don't know what the vet will say other than he's old (he's gotten pretty incontinent and shakey recently, but it's been gradual). I hope he doesn't recommend a bunch of tests.

If it doesn't take too long at the vet I may go up to Trader Joe's after.

Saturday is bike riding in the warmer weather! Plus 3-year old twins birthday party (chocolate pirate ship cake!) and then another party I have to go to after. Sunday is ... I'm not sure. Walking maybe and then later babysitting twins so their folks can go see Coraline finally.
