He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a way back. Well, not long, but in terms of how long it usually takes it to kill, quite a while.

What's up with Swayze? I haven't heard this.
He's got cancer. Pancreas? I think that's it.
Perkins, he's had pancreatic cancer for about the last year -- which, on the whole "Fuck Cancer" scale, is way out on the more fuckety end.
And he just went into the hospital with pneumonia (?).
That is really sad.
I thought that The Beast didn't start 'til this week. (I want to watch it too.)
This Thursday.
I'm so sorry, brenda.
The talk of Swayze reminds me of how hollow he looked the last time I saw a photo of him. Made me sad.
My dad died of pancreatic cancer. Well technically he died from the surgery to remove it. Part of me still feels like we were robbed of one last year but most of me feels like he would have rather gone as he did. He wouldn't have wanted to spend a long time dying.

Yeah my father's was undiagnosed until after his death so he spent a long time dying of it. He suffered a great deal, so your father may have been better off. Fucking Group Health.
I'm sorry it took your father too, Typo. Several of my friends fathers and grandfathers died of it as well. I tend to feel it personally when I hear someone has pancreatic cancer, which of course is irrational of me. But it's just such a cruel of a disease.
