My dad died of pancreatic cancer. Well technically he died from the surgery to remove it.
Yeah my father's was undiagnosed until after his death so he spent a long time dying of it. He suffered a great deal, so your father may have been better off. Fucking Group Health.
I'm sorry it took your father too, Typo. Several of my friends fathers and grandfathers died of it as well. I tend to feel it personally when I hear someone has pancreatic cancer, which of course is irrational of me. But it's just such a cruel of a disease.
Ugh. I can't leave on that miserable note. Esp since I just finished making some waffle batter so it can sit until morning. Mmm. Waffles for breakfast. I like Sundays.
Waffles for breakfast are indeed good. So is homemade granola, which by coincidence I put up for tomorrow morning. I also have a package of frozen mangoes I need to figure out something fun to do with. (Fresh Mangoes, I'd just serve but with frozen I should probably find a recipe.)
Any better options for in-store shopping in Manhattan?
Metro Minis, on the UES. WF is good for organic bath stuff, but they don't really have toys. (Buy Buy Baby has a lot of Melissa & Doug wooden toys for older babies, but most of their newborn stock is Carters, Gerber, etc.)
[eta: For brands, I really love Under The Nile. Their stuff is *adorable* and lasts just this side of forever.]
Thanks! I got an adorable onesie the last time I went baby shopping at the Bowery WF, and it's marginally more convenient than the UES, so I'll do that again. Now I just have to remember!
Jesse, Costco is not going to happen for me today.
mac has been up for 3 hours, me for less than one. I am ready to kick him off the tv for football and the golden globes, but I am not sure that is going to fly.
Oh, good. I'm not sure I can make it off the couch.
whew. it looks likes it's a nice day out there, but every ounce of me wants ti sit and do nothing.
so glad it's not just me.
