JZ, Happy Birthday!
I have a lovely sinussy summer cold. I've been attempting to watch tennis but have been mostly drowsing on the sofa.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Wow, what a weird time-delayed doublepost.
Sorry about that.
How can a man who has a PhD and understands things like linear algebra be so completely lacking in common sense and ability to plan things?
There does seem to be an inverse relationship between the intelligence needed for one's academic field and common sense. Bob's former roommate had a masters in electrical engineering and a philosophy PhD and thought his cat was female. Because it had nipples.
[Have I told that one before?]
That's hilarious.
There is a reason the absent-minded professor stereotype exists...
Happy Birthday JZ!
Happy Birthday, JZ!
Veterinarians tell tales of families bringing in their cats or dogs and asking what the six evenly spaced hairless bumps are. Clearly more people need a refresher on 'mammalian characteristics' and what they imply.
Happy Happy JZ Day!!!
We had a cranky toddler sighting at the bookstore--she was upset because she didn't get the book she wanted and cried and cried until her dad was taking her out.
I was very suddenly woken up with a massive charlie horse in my right calf--boy, did that hurt!! It was tender for a while this morning.
Work was pretty dead--not a good sign for the rest of the summer. And, I have to work next Saturday, July 4; I had made the mistake of assuming we'd be closed. Oh, well, I don't have plans until the 5th (Mundelein holiday parade, which goes past my friend's house and is fun to watch).

Maybe he has no nipples.
Happy birthday, JZ!

Absolutely. I work with a ton of engeineers. My father is an engineer with his PhD. They prove this theory daily.
On the other hand, this theory is what keeps me in a job. I help the engineers handle the administrative side of their projects. While they may know their technical stuff inside and out, handling the internal project management stuff is HARD.
