Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Between her lay-off and my brother's ongoing divorce proceedings, I find myself in the weird position of being the lucky sibling in the family (for the time being).

Which really doesn't seem fair, what with you already being the best looking one.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PLEI!

HAPPY MONTHDAY, KALLIOPE!

“Not dead yet!”

I'm WRITING! Wheeee!! Lovely New Agent Lady had some questions and ideas and my mind's going bonkers.

There is also going to be pizza and champagne tonight with one of my besties, a newly-minted, bonafide, New York Times Bestselling author. So we're celebrating bestselling status and new agents and stuff.

Lewis doesn't want to do anything in particular for Father's Day, so we'll probably just be mellow-- maybe I'll grill some salmon or steaks.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Birthday Happies, Plei!!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm not doing much this weekend. Might go grocery shopping.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Speaking of alternative activities, I should totally be allowed to spend today watching vids rather than working, yes?

Oh, and as I have just been reminded, Happy Juneteenth!

hip deep in pie

I don't have any plans for the weekend. Every weekend I say I need to clean my house, and while some cleaning happens, it never gets CLEAN. Since it's supposed to rain, maybe this will be the weekend?

Coding and Sleeping

Happy Birthday, Plei!

That's awesome Barb!

This weekend will involve cleaning, maybe seeing a movie with my BiL if isn't too annoyed I've put it off for two weeks now, hopefully some writing, and the usual sort of family things.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Woo! Juneteenth, Ple's birthday and F2F Prom all in convergence.

Happy birthday, Pleiades! I wish you a day full of beautiful tipsy women in corsets.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

What are people who aren't in Seattle doing this weekend?

Tonight I had a get-together with former coworkers. It was fun, made me feel pretty good about where I am in life right now. (I foolishly took Ryan photos but left them in the car. Oh well, they're on Flickr anyway.)

Tomorrow I have a Chinese lesson (as usual). Aside from that, I expect to be doing a lot of caring for Ryan (Wallybee and her parents all have colds right now, Wallybee after only recovering from a cold last week). I'll also probably apply for a student loan for the Master of Finance, and enrol in a course in Training and Assessment.

That's probably enough for one weekend.
