I don't know if they're considered nerds, but I think they're sporting elements of nerd style. Probably more hipster nerd style.

I would have thought that in 1961 or so, a man in a white shirt, no tie, and skinny trousers would have looked hip, even fashion forward, not nerdy.
I think they're all hip for their times -- icons, even -- but they're in styles that we would now consider nerdy. Except that it's more nerd-chic than actual nerd.
