It's because you didn't have a strong father figure isn't it?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Did you fall over or was it more of a reverse headbutt?

Definitely wasn't a head butt. Not entirely sure of the rest of the details, though.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Is it unreasonable of DW not to want to miss a day of work to throw her back out loading fossils out of a truck for her widowed mother? Argh. Bad situation becoming worse over here.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Walking around Audubon Park is nice if it isn't too hot, it's right on the same streetcar line as that tour.

I went to the Mint last time I was in town and really enjoyed their museum - small but interesting. It's over at the Marigny end of the French Quarter.

Oh! Free lunch time concerts at the National Park Site in the Quarter. Near the flea market and Bella Luna and Margaritaville, I want to say. Somewhere along the river in the Quarter, anyway. I think they are every day at noon, you can bring in a lunch. The one we went to was kind of a History of Jazz and Jellyroll Morton's place in it lecture in between piano playing, enjoyable and informative.

And seconding Dana's Aquarium recommendation. I can't do it fast, so it seems like an all day thing to me, but it probably doesn't need to be and a lot of the exhibits are really great. Swamps! Rainforests! Penguin! Jellyfish!

D-day museum is supposed to be really good, but I haven't been.

I know I toured the Cabildo at some point but I don't really remember it. So maybe that's not a recommendation. But I do have a bad memory in general, maybe it's actually a pretty good tour.

Yes. Time is money. Hire a local kid who will do it for less than DW would lose (in money, goodwill, and frustration) by not going to work.

Maybe it's time to refurnish your apartment with bean bag chairs.

You can also take the streetcar around the river bend near Tulane and there are cool bookstores and shops.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Can I opt out of being an adult today?

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

So, we walked at lunchtime. 1.5 miles, so that is something. Not sure I got my heartrate up anywhere that is useful, but I will work on pace as I do it more. I mapped out a different route to try tomorrow that will be 1.7, so I'll have to walk it faster to stay in the timeframe.

I've mapped out my walk to the subway in the morning (.4 miles) and the one to pick up mac and get home at night (.55)
