I'm so sorry, but if it makes you feel any better, my fun-time-Buffy party night involved watching a robot throw Spike through a window, so if you want to trade... no wait, I wouldn't give up that memory for anything.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

For tours or other non-eating non-drinking activities?

If you're feeling touristy, the Aquarium is pretty great. The Garden District tour looks nice to me -- that part of the city was largely untouched by Katrina.

My default recommendation for something to do used to be O'Flaherty's Irish Pub, but they closed down after Katrina. *sigh*

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Careless drivers almost ran over me twice on my way to work this morning. Then I got to work and found a Facebook message from my aunt asking me if I've lost weight based on my profile picture, and the fact that I haven't makes me wonder how much of a porker she thought I was last time I saw her.

I suspect that today is not going to be my best day ever.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Lisa, some pharmacies will make up "flavored" liquids with the drug suspended in it. (It's a very fishy-smelling one for cats). Then you can use an eyedropper to squirt it between their lips.

Yeah, a google search for "compounding pharmacy" will help. They're supposedly expensive, though.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I was looking at this one- just from random googling. Anyone have any recommendations?

The Garden District cemetary (Lafayette?) is fantastic. Easily my favorite tour. Commander's Palace is right across the street.

While in the Garden District definitely go down Magazine Street. They have some cool antique arcades and shops there.

The Zoo is at the end of the St. Charles streetcar line past the Garden District. You can also take the streetcar around the river bend near Tulane and there are cool bookstores and shops.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I miss New Orleans.

For those playing along at home, I have verified that I can actually grow a goose egg on the back of my head. So much for due diligence.

Did you fall over or was it more of a reverse headbutt?

I miss New Orleans.

I know what that means.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

For those playing along at home, I have verified that I can actually grow a goose egg on the back of my head.

Oh dear.

You know, if the Big Family Vacation plan falls through, I think I'm going to pitch New Orleans as an alternate destination. I've never been!

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I have verified that I can actually grow a goose egg on the back of my head.

I would have been willing to take that on faith.

I wish gravity would be kinder to you, ita. I'd ask, but gravity and I have had a pretty rocky relationship.
