Buffy? I like that. That girl's so hot, she's buffy.

Coding and Sleeping

And, I have to say, Emmett was super awesome all weekend. From baseball, to tuxedo events to playing with Matilda it was like all of his virtues were on display.

That sounds like a great weekend.

All that circus school training has unfortunately given her the climbing ability of a spider monkey. I picked her up the other day she clambered up on top of my head before I could stop her.

I wonder how Leif has been sneaking off the circus school without our knowledge.

“Not dead yet!”

Thank heavens I never had climbers.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

When I was small (3?) I used to climb on top of our upright piano. I still have a bump on my skull from when I fell off once.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Whoo hoo, I am going to be in New Orleans this time tomorrow! I am looking into tours or other activities to break up some time between bouts of hedonism- I was looking at this one- just from random googling. Anyone have any recommendations? For tours or other non-eating non-drinking activities?

information libertarian

Nutty tried to climb a bookcase at about 3 and it fell over. It hit the dining room table, solid maple, and cracked it, which was very lucky for Nutty. (This was before the days of wall anchors and stuff.)

I feel so lucky that my kids aren't extreme in their behavior. They aren't/weren't climbers, serious bolters (though you have to watch Dillo pretty closely right now) or mad scientist experimenters (don't stick weird stuff in the VCR, etc.) The occasional thrown sippy cup and sugar stolen from the sugar bowl is nothing compared to what I hear about some kids.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That sounds like a great weekend.

Yeah, he was great. Our baseball team broke its 8 game losing streak, and all I had to do was throw him on the pitching mound with the bases loaded and one out and the tying run on second base. But he got us out of it to save the win. And he looked totally dapper and he socialized at the reception for JZ's brother and BiL. And he played with Matilda all weekend and helped divert her from her fuss. I think he even changed a diaper.

After which his purple eyes flashed, he telepathically communicated with a cat, he fixed the warp drive and then he played some classical guitar.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

For tours or other non-eating non-drinking activities?

If you're feeling touristy, the Aquarium is pretty great. The Garden District tour looks nice to me -- that part of the city was largely untouched by Katrina.

My default recommendation for something to do used to be O'Flaherty's Irish Pub, but they closed down after Katrina. *sigh*

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Careless drivers almost ran over me twice on my way to work this morning. Then I got to work and found a Facebook message from my aunt asking me if I've lost weight based on my profile picture, and the fact that I haven't makes me wonder how much of a porker she thought I was last time I saw her.

I suspect that today is not going to be my best day ever.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Lisa, some pharmacies will make up "flavored" liquids with the drug suspended in it. (It's a very fishy-smelling one for cats). Then you can use an eyedropper to squirt it between their lips.

Yeah, a google search for "compounding pharmacy" will help. They're supposedly expensive, though.

The Garden District cemetary (Lafayette?) is fantastic. Easily my favorite tour. Commander's Palace is right across the street.

While in the Garden District definitely go down Magazine Street. They have some cool antique arcades and shops there.

The Zoo is at the end of the St. Charles streetcar line past the Garden District. You can also take the streetcar around the river bend near Tulane and there are cool bookstores and shops.
